The Circuit is closing out a record season

The Circuit welcomed 807,755 people to the events it organized this year, reaching its best attendance in 15 years. Of the 17 major events held, the one that attracted the largest audience was the Formula 1 Aramco Spanish Grand Prixwith a total of 297,368 in attendance over the four days of the event. They were on Sunday 125,210 the people attending the Circuit. It was a successful edition, approaching the numbers of 2006, 2007 and 2008, coinciding with Fernando Alonso’s rise to the World Cup.

Second, it is followed by MotoGP’s Monster Energy Grand Prix of Catalunyaincluding 176,684 attendance over four days, 76,124 fans on Sunday alone. In the third position is the Motul Solidarity Grand Prize of Barcelonarecently awarded the award for the best GP of 2024. They are 134,848 the people who passed through the Circuit during the three days of activity and filled the venue showing a massive gesture of solidarity with all the victims of the DANA that hit Valencia and forced the suspension of the Grand Prix to be held at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. Against the clock and showing a great capacity to respond to a logistical challenge of such magnitude, the Circuit, together with Dorna (sponsoring company of the MotoGP World Championship), organized this extraordinary and charitable Grand Prix in in just ten days managed to raise and allocate 1, 6 million euros in Valencia.

325 days of track activity

He Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya closes the 2024 season with 89% occupancy and a total of 325 days of track activity. This number can be divided into 225 rental days and 100 competition days. A total of 20 days were invested in performing tasks and maintenance and there were 21 days of inactivity. The 89% occupancy rate is one of the highest numbers in the past decade, surpassed only by 2017 and 2023 (91%).

After 12 intense months, the venue offers its facilities for many experiences such as private and collective training (for car competitions, motorcycling and cyclists), incentive and training sessions, courses driving, filming, performances, events and educational visits.

The Circuit’s commitment to diversity, offering different spaces to host all kinds of activities, has also led it to celebrate music festivals such as Reggaeton Beach Festivalwhich brought together up to 85,000 people in one weekend.

In this sense, the Circuit, managed by the Fira de Barcelona from January 2025, continues to follow the fundamentals of the Strategic Plan presented in 2022 and which aims to make it more environmentally and economically sustainable, with a clear commitment to innovation and digitalization to become a key infrastructure for the country’s industry.
