Yuki Tsunoda represent experience and continuing with Racing Bulls next year but, excluded for promotion, The Japanese seem to be running out of steam in the Formula One team owned by Red Bull.

Red Bull’s flurry of announcements culminated on Friday with the confirmation of 20-year-old Isack Hadjar as Tsunoda’s teammate.

The Frenchman occupies the seat vacated by New Zealander Liam Lawson, who joins four-time champion Max Verstappen in the main team after Mexican Sergio Pérez was eliminated.

Tsunoda24 years old, cwill begin his fifth year with the team formerly known as AlphaTauri and RB and has close ties with Red Bull’s engine partners Honda.

However, the Japanese manufacturer will leave Red Bull at the end of 2025 to work with Aston Martin.

«We are very aware that if we can’t give Yuki a chance (at Red Bull) in all honesty this year, Does it make sense (to keep it)?», said the boss of the Red Bull team, Christian Hornerto journalists.

«You cannot have a driver on the support team for five years. You can’t always be a bridesmaid. At that point you either have to let them go or find something different.

Horner said he spoke with Tsunodaa fan favorite currently enjoying some time in Japan, and the driver is determined to show what he can do.

«I think he is very determined. He knows that change is very fast.said the Briton. “Who would have thought nine months ago that we would be sitting here talking about Liam Lawson being our driver for 2025?

“Things change quickly in this industry and he knows it and he knows he has to show that he’s the one knocking on the door.”

The Italian Racing Bulls team, which underwent several name changes after Red Bull bought Minardi in 2005 and renamed it Toro Rosso, has always been a feeder for the main title-winning team Milton Keynes.

Among the drivers who passed through their ranks were four-time world champions Sebastian Vettel and Verstappen, as well as race winners Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz.

Hadjar is part of a group of promising youngsters in the sport, and Red Bull also have Arvid Lindblad as an interesting talent on the horizon.

Horner is particularly fond of the 17-year-old, of British and Swedish nationality, after an excellent rookie season in Formula 3 that included a double victory at Silverstone.

Currently without a superlicence, Lindblad will be looking for the necessary points in New Zealand early next year before a full season in F2 could set him up for promotion in 2026 at Tsunoda’s expense.
