Brentford took advantage of Brighton’s worst moment of the season to score their second away point from the start of the Premier League (0-0). The ‘Bees’ have managed just one draw in their eight previous trips, but today they battled the local avalanche at the Amex Stadium, especially in the opening half-time.
Brighton came out ready to end their five-day winless streak and put Brentford under constant siege with a steady stream of shots on goal. In the first part there were 15, but Mark Flekken repeatedly deflected attempts, above all, of Julio Enciso, the most intelligent, but also Carlos Baleba and Matt O’Riley, until he had to retire.
VAR disallows goal against Brentford on its first visit
On the other hand, on their first arrival in the local area, Brentford scored at quarter of an hour through Yoanne Wissa with a shot into the top corner ending a quick attack, but VAR disallowed the goal for a millimeter offside.
Half an hour later, Flekken left the field due to injury to the adductor entering the area Hakon Valdimarsson. But the Icelandic goalkeeper, on his debut in the Premier League At 23 years old, he also kept a clean sheet, although Brighton finished fewer.
Without success facing the goal
And in the second half the game was more even. The Seagulls didn’t have as many chances against a more established opponent in defense and they arrived with some danger in the local area.
The two teams showed their lack of success in front of the goal and the match ended in a 0-0 which continues to keep them separated by two points in the middle zone of the classification.
