Golf earthquake: Movistar Plus+ loses PGA Tour rights

The year 2025 begins with changes for golf fans in Spain. In the last few hours, the Max platform announced that it has acquired the rights to broadcast the PGA Tour, a move that leaves Movistar Plus+the operator that has become the home of golf in recent years.

In this way, the streaming platform has added a new event to its catalog of sporting events, including the Australian Open, Roland Garros or the three great cycling events in the world (Tour, Giro and Vuelta).

For its part, Movistar Plus+ beats the main circuit of one of its most classic sports, although it retains the rights to LIV Golfthe Saudi circuit where, among others, Jon Rahm and Sergio García compete, and the DP World Tourformerly known as the European Circuit.

The broadcast of the first tournament of the season, The Sentry, which will take place from January 2 to 5 in Kapalua (Hawaii), no longer appears in the telephone operator’s programming guide.
