The Canadian US Open doubles champion (2023) and Paris Olympic bronze medalist, Gabriela Dabrowskisaid on Tuesday that underwent breast cancer surgery earlier this year. The 32-year-old tennis player was diagnosed in April, before his Olympic medal.
After two surgeries and a three-month break from the WTA Tour, the Australian Open (2018) and Roland Garros (2017) mixed doubles champion won the Nottingham grass court title with New Zealander Erin Routliffe in June. The duo also reached the Wimbledon final, but lost to Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend.

“At the beginning of my diagnosis, I was afraid that cancer would be a part of my identity forever. I don’t feel that anymore. It is a privilege to call myself a survivor.“Dabrowski wrote on Instagram. The Canadian received radiation therapy before the US Open in late August, where he reached the quarterfinals with Routliffe.
