Laia Sanz: “I really want to come back, more than ever”

Date:

Laia Sanz is now in Barcelona after early finish his fifteenth participation in the 2025 Dakar Rallydue to problems suffered with his car which caused the International Automobile Federation to prevent him from continuing the race.

Upon his arrival at the Barcelona airport, the KH-7 pilot did not hide his disappointment at the abandonment of the first stage, but he was convinced that he would return next year with more determination.

“I really want to go back, more than ever. I like to think that there is a reason that happened that I don’t know yet. But in any case, it made me more hungry to return, to prepare well and to do well,” he said.

After 2024 in which he did not enjoy all the preparations he wanted, the Spaniard is confident of his chances of success in the next editions of the Dakar:

“Although these times are difficult, motivation remains high. I came with the feeling that I didn’t say everything in this race, that I could get a good result with the cars. The road is hard, but that’s how things are sometimes. We have to continue working and insisting,” he commented.

In fact, Laia Sanz is still thinking about the accident she had in the first stage of the rally, which ended up being excluded for safety reasons when her car’s protection bars were partially damaged.

“What excites me the most is knowing that we have the rhythm. I think, honestly, we can win the category. Now this is very easy to say, but I think the times have shown it that way. On the stage, even though there were problems, we were in twenties in the classification, without pushing at all,” he said.
