Cracks in and out of the playing field. The footballer from Tenerife has sponsored a sustainable project to be carried out at the club in his hometown, Tegueste, which aims to reduce the use of plastics. With him, two of the key components for signing the unity agreement are the Club Deportivo Aliron Football Base Tegueste (CDAFB Tegueste) and the Kick Out Plastic Foundation.
Pedri presented this project to the world accompanied by a representation of grassroots football children of their town, their parents and a delegation from Tegueste City Council: “For me it is a huge pride that Kick Out Plastic is working with my hometown and the club where I started playing when I was young. When they proposed the initiative to me, I said yes without hesitation ”, Pedri assured.
This gesture also became an important moment to show professional water dispenser installed by Kick Out Plastic in the Ciudad Deportiva Los Laureles area, for the use of players, coaching staff and the public when they use the playing field. Thus, an attempt will be made to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles, because thanks to the dispenser they will have a longer useful life with more than 400 reusable bottles delivered by the club.
Jose Eladio Ramospresident of CDAFB Tegueste, said it was “a good day” because Pedri was “accompanying them to share a commitment to the future” of the planet, which is to “reduce plastic waste”.
Ana Menamayor of Tegueste, commented that the football player’s support for initiatives like this “sees very well how Tegueste, a very sensitive and leading town in terms of sustainability”.
