In November 2020, Diego Armando Maradona died in the 60s due to an infarction wrapped in many controversies. After his death, his family accused the neglect of doctors and other health professionals responsible for the protection of Argentine legend. The trial begins on March 11 and there are eight people suspected of causing death. They face 25 years in prison.
One week after the trial, one of Diego’s daughters, Dalma, was invited to a podcast called ‘Angel Reply’ and discussed the case. “In the audio recording you hear how they kill it, it gives drugs, pills and things not to do. You can hear it clearly: it’s terrible,” he said.
Dalma wants to say her version of what happened so that the family can get justice. But at the same time, he was afraid to tell her because of the mafia. “My mother remembers. She is afraid of the mafia, where they are deciding, they have money and power. But I don’t care. I know who I am facing, but I can’t be quiet. We want people to listen to the truth. My mother asks me to calm down and nothing to say because she’s scared, but I don’t.
