It doesn’t look like Tiger Woods will play with the championship players next week, according to his latest statements about his current priorities. In the Masters of Augusta up to five weeks, a return of the more hidden 15 -time winner of the Grand Slam Tournament could be a personal challenge.
However, Woods is now parked in his game. In a public appearance this week, Tiger cited the recent death of his mother, Kuraida, and his work on the PGA Tour Policy Board as the reasons why he did not have the desire to work on his game just -he was.
“This is the third time I’ve played a stick since my mother’s death, so I really got in,” Woods told Sports Illustrated. “My heart is not really training at this time. I have a lot of other things to do on tour and I’m trying to do the other things …”.
And only then did Tiger open the possibility of returning to links, even in the low periods of recent years. “Once you start feeling a little better and starting to get in here, I’ll start looking at the calendar.”
The last official contest Woods played was a failed cut at the British Open of 2024 in July.
Woods, still recovering from a car accident in 2021, underwent a sixth back operation in September. He did not play the challenge in the hero world and then joined his son Charlie, at the PNC Championship in December.
Before Friday, Woods should talk about whether he is playing or not with the championship players next week. If you access, the masters will be closer.
