Carlos Gazapo, national champion and 100 km record

Extremadura Ultrafondist Carlos Gazapo was announced this Saturday to the Malaga Spanish champion of 100 kilometers on route with a national test record, while 50 km successes Francisco Serrano and Dolores Marco.

Gazapo, with an exhibition in Malaga, sealed gold with a new Spain (6h: 21: 06) note and defeated Plusmarca experienced by José María González since 2006 (6:23:44).

The first three women who crossed the end line and complete the podium were Dolores Marco (3:22:21), Beatriz Martínez (3:22:32) and Esther Rodríguez (3:23:54), below the previous championship record, 3 hours, 34 minutes and 34 seconds, which means this year’s edition of Spain’s fast -paced 50 km championship of Spain.

Veteran athlete of Toledo Athletics Club Juan López García, 81, became the new 50 km worldwide plusmarchist on route for more than 80 years with 4 hours, 47 minutes and 35 seconds, almost an hour better than the luxurious José Mathías, held the previous note.

In this edition, with the Ciudad de Málaga athletics Stadium, more than two hundred corridors, adding categories of men and women.

Participating athletes had to complete 20 laps at 50 km and 40 in the discipline of 100 km in a homologated circuit of 2.5 kilometers.
