Xabi Alonso: “Now it’s time to take the next step”

Date:

Xabi Alonso continued to say goodbye to Bayer Leverkusen waiting for his arrival on the Real Madrid bench to replace Carlo Ancelotti. Tolosarra’s coach has issued an interview with official Aspirin Club channels where he took the stock of his two and a half years in Germany.

“I was a lot of fun and I was very happy. I felt at home. We missed all the expectations for what we had achieved and how we succeeded. We were lucky to be in place and at the right time,” Alonso recalled.

“Last year it was a dream for everyone. We achieved a great, great goal for everyone and the celebration against Werder was the Cherry Cherry. She never thought to do that time, but she had a good feeling. The club did a great job. We changed the team structure and went perfectly,” he said.

“From the beginning I felt that the team had played well and that it had a sense of consistency and I thought we could be dominant and play at the highest level. Gradually we saw that we could be with the Bundesigiga and the focus and thought of the team was amazing,” he added.

“Farewell with fans is Kapana -excited but I also want to enjoy it. Now it’s time to take the next step,” he said without more details about his immediate future. “The hardest thing is the first month, with the team in a bad class and self -esteem is not good and for me this is the first experience as a professional coach. Everything is about to be seen. It’s a challenge and I need to learn quickly. The team’s potential is there and it’s a matter of planting seeds and growing up,” he remembered.
