Official: one side from Bayern, to Nottingham Forest

Historic Nottingham Forest, back in the Premier League, where it will play for the first time since 1999, announced this Sunday a new reinforcement: English left-back Omar Richards, from Bayern. Sign up to 2026.

Omar Richards played one season at Bayern, where he came from Reading (in the Championship, the English Second Division). Richards has only played 12 games in the Bundesliga for the Bavarian team, and only one of them has been completed.

The English player is Forest’s third signing this season on his return to the Premier League, after Mainz defender Moussa Niakhaté and Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

Nottingham Forest paid 8.5 million euros for the left back, 24 years old. He made his first steps in Fulham’s youth categories to move to Reading, where the first team he made his debut was in 2017 and where he remained until he left for Bayern in 2021. It was in an Under-21 international occasion for England.
