the Croatian Petra Martic won the tournament in Lausanne (Switzerland), after beating Serbian Olga Danilovic 6-4, 6-2 and added the second WTA title of his career.
Martic won the first set in 55 minutes, where he twice broke his rival’s serve and, after an equal score, he was able to win the ninth and tenth with his third set ball.
In the second he was much superior and only allowed Danilovic to win the first two games in which he served.. The Serb again suffered two more service breaks and dropped the set into a romance after 36 minutes.
Martic, 31 years old and 85th in the WTA rankings, has played four finals so far and only won in Istanbul in 2019.
For Danilovic, a Serbian born in Moscow 21 years ago (124 WTA), this is his second final after the title win in Moscow in 2018.
This Sunday was the second confrontation of the two tennis players, after they took place at the Australian Open last year, with a victory for the Serbian.
