The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) imposed a twelve-year ban on Dutch tennis coach Max Wenderswho admitted multiple charges of fraud, destroyed evidence requested at the time by the Tennis Integrity Unit (AIT) and failed to report corruption.
As ITIA reported this Wednesday, the case was tried in April 2021 by the head of anti-corruption, Professor Richard McLaren, but the resolution has not been made public until now due to the allegations presented by the investigating legal team.
The sanction, which also carries a $12,000 fine, prevents Max Wendeers from training, playing or attending any tennis event sanctioned by the sport’s governing bodies for 12 years from the date of the decision (June 28). April 2021).
The ITIA is an independent body created by the international governing bodies of tennis to promote, encourage, improve and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis worldwide.
