David Valero gets his first World Cup victory

Spaniard David Valero won on Sunday for the first time a cross-country mountain biking (XCO) World Cup trial, winning with a return to the disputed American town of Snowshoe on a very muddy route.

The man from Granada, bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, won the Snowshoe in epic fashion with a time of 1:25:11.

He leads Frenchman Titouan Carod by 5 seconds and Italian Luca Braidot and American Christopher Blevins by 11.

Pablo Rodríguez, also Spanish, qualified eighteenth, 3:26 minutes behind the Baza cyclist.

In the women’s race, the victory of the Swiss Alessandra Keller, ahead of the Swedish Jenny Rissveds, second in 37 seconds, the leader of the general, the Dutch Anne Terpstra, third in 50.

The World Cup continues next weekend in Mont Sainte-Anne (Canada).
