The Yamaha team was announced this Thursday Andrea Dovizioso has decided to retire from MotoGP after the upcoming San Marino Grand Prix which will take place on September 4.

The Italian rider, who rejoined Yamaha’s satellite rider line-up at the 2021 San Marino GP when Franco Morbidelli moved to the factory team, left the competition after scoring six third-place finishes and one fourth-place finish at the World Championship.
Dovizioso originally planned to continue until the end of the season.but recently decided to end his career at his home race in Misano.
cal crutchlowteam’s official test driver, will be his replacement for the remaining six races of the 2022 season.
The team manager, Lin Jarvis, expressed his sadness at the decision Dovizioso, whom he considers “a great name in MotoGP and will be missed in the paddock”.
“Unfortunately, Andrea had difficulty in obtaining the maximum potential of the M1 and, therefore, the results did not come, which created an apparent disappointment. Finally, during the summer holidays, he confirmed to us his wish to retire before the end of the season.”
