The Federation is putting the case up for sale for just over two million euros
Águilas FC basically started its preseason to compete in Group XIII of the Third Division. After the weeks have passed and the competition starts soon, the coastal team is planning a competition like the Third with the aim of promoting to the Second RFEF in a few months.
However, he does not lose sight of the opportunity to fill the vacancy left by Extremadura, which dissolves and unbalances the fourth tier of national football. The RFEF opened the process to fill this vacancy through an economic offer, setting a starting price of €2,048,599. This prize would serve to pay the outstanding debts left behind by the Extremadura team after his disappearance.
It seems that in the first term, where the starting price is indicated above and expires next Tuesday, the vacancy will hardly be filled. The second tranche (at a cost of €1,024,299.90) also seems complicated to end with a club taking on the costs of the vacancy. If not covered, the bid price would go to €512,149.95 and it would be attractive for several clubs to bet on climbing to the fourth rung of Spanish football. A hypothetical third tranche would keep the bid amount at €256,074.97.
From half a million, the Eagles, economically and sportingly, would compete and bid in the square, as one of the main candidates. It seems that the subsidiaries of Almería could offer Levante, Las Palmas or Huesca, as well as others historic ones like Toledo, but sportingly they are lower in terms of the right of the square than the group chaired by Alfonso García.
Only Cerdanyola and Andratx finished last season with more points than the Blauw-Wit, so sporting achievements would prevail in an economically equal bid. Levante would start eighth on this list, Huesca in eleventh position and the subsidiary of Las Palmas in sixteenth place.
Although the non-continuity of Quim Araujo had been known for weeks, the midfielder wanted to say goodbye to the aquiline fans on social networks in a statement:
“I didn’t want to take on a new challenge without saying goodbye to Águilas FC and its fans. I would like to say a huge thank you to the treatment I have received since my arrival from the club, teammates and coaching staff, but above all I would like to thank the fans for the tremendous affection and support you have conveyed despite the difficult times we have been through. I wish you the best of luck in the future and I hope you come back as soon as possible… a hug and goodbye!”
The Mar Menor has already made Quim Araujo’s signing official for this season, which will be the second for the San Javier club in the Second RFEF.
