José María Meseguer’s boat finished second in Swan 42
The ‘Pez de Abril’, captained by the Murcian José María Meseguer, was the region’s boat that stood out most during the 40th Copa del Rey’s sails that ended yesterday in Palma. The Swan 42 of the CN de Portmán, winner in the 2017 and 2018 editions, arrived yesterday with options for the final regatta. He finished second in his category.
The cruise ship ‘La Casa de las Cascas-Fandango 300’, led by Julio Bernadeau, also played an outstanding role, competing for the PD Marina de Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar and RCN de Barcelona, finishing in a creditable fifth place in the difficult and competitive ORC 2 class.
The crew of the Murcian team says goodbye to the event in Palma with great taste, because a fifth place in the ORC 2 class, always the most competitive and with the most advanced and best prepared boats, is not a bad result, everything opposite. Satisfaction within the team, once they landed, was maximum, after leaving behind nine boats, the vast majority with a very high record in several regattas on the national stage.
