Cardiff export Alex Smithies became Leicester’s first signing in the current summer market. The 32-year-old Smithies arrived at the King Power Stadium club with a letter of independence.
Smithies, who also played for Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield, has signed a two-season deal, until 2024, for Leicester. The goalkeeper will reinforce said demarcation in the Foxes team after the departure of Kasper Schmeichel from Nice.

“I have played against many players. I am sure I will adapt. Most of my games have been in the Championship (the English Second), but pI can be a team player, supporting and it’s there when I need it,” Smithies said.
Danny Ward defended the Leicester goal on the first day of the Premier (2-2 against Brentford). On the same Saturday, the team led by Brendan Rodgers visited Arsenal on the second day of the match.
