Thomas Tuchel, manager of Chelsea, and Antonio Conte, of Tottenham, were accused this Monday by the English Football Federation (FA) after their double confrontation during and after the 2-2 finish on Sunday in the 2nd round of the Premier at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel and Conte were sent off after they clashed. In a statement, the FA indicated that the behavior of both technicians was “inappropriate” at the end of the match and they have until Thursday to respond to the charges.
The FA is also investigating Tuchel’s comments., as the Chelsea manager criticized Anthony Taylor, the match official, for his decisions. Tuchel accused Taylor and the video assistant referee (VAR) of making the wrong decisions that ultimately helped Spurs exit Stamford Bridge with a point.
Conte, former Chelsea manager, even laughed at Tuchel on Instagram and said he was glad not to see the German celebrate the Blues’ second goal by running down the touchline because “you deserve to be tripped up.”
