Glentoran fined £1,000 for spectator misconduct during last league game

The Football Association of Ireland has fined Glentoran $100,000 for spectator misconduct in the last match of Danske Bank’s premiere against Balimina United at the Warden Street Showgrounds.

The Big Two were accused of violating Section 33.3 of the Association Disciplinary Code, which deals with the behavior of spectators during matches.

As a result, “the club was fined £1,000”.

The accusation is understood to relate to Rocket who was close to the assistant referee at the end of the match.

The tournament match was held on March 19 and ended in a 1-1 draw.

Ryan Wade Balimina was sacked in the 49th minute, but Jay Donnelly saved the visitors’ point with a penalty kick in the 55th minute.

Meanwhile, Carrick Rangers were also fined 250,250 for a 33-33 breach during their last game against Larney.

The match, played at the Loughview Leisure Arena on Friday 18 March, ended in a 1-1 draw.
