All models that have come out of Ford Almussafes in 45 years

The Almussafes factory began industrial activity on October 18, 1976, with the departure of the
first Fiesta of the production chain Since then, the Valencian factory has “established itself as an industrial benchmark in the Valencian Community”, the company underlines. In this regard, Ford highlighted the 1996 inauguration of the Juan Carlos I Industrial Park, which gave rise to the consolidation of a new “just-in-time” delivery method for the supply of parts and assemblies from suppliers adjacent to the exact point where they were needed in the factory Ford production line.

Almost half a century of work have passed since the first Fiesta models left the factory. In those 45 years, different work teams have assembled all kinds of models: from the legendary and already mentioned Ford Fiesta, to the Mondeo, Orion, Focus, Galaxy, Escort, Ka, Kuga, Mazda 2, S-MAX and C-MAX and Transit Connect in different versions. Exactly, the Fiesta was not only the first car to be produced, but also accounted for most of the volume produced at the plant until 2012, when production ceased.

Specifically, the Escort began to be produced in 1981, followed two years later by the Orion, of which other variants, such as five-door, appeared in the coming years. It should be noted that in 1991 already 1 million vehicles were exported to the world from the port of Valencia, something in which this factory has always been a reference to this day.

In 1996 the Ford Ka arrived and two years later the Focus, another bestseller like its little brother the Fiesta. In 2010 came the C-Max Compact and the Grand C-Max, although production lasted only four years. The one that has gained a lot of ground in Amussafes is the Kuga, the brand’s first SUV to enter the factory and which started production in 2012. New generations of Fiesta and Focus were also launched during these years, always thinking about technological and innovating in efficiency.

Transit and Tourneo Connect vans hit the production lines in 2013, followed by the Mondeo in 2014; the S-Max, Galaxy and the Vignale version of the Mondeo in 2015. The latter was Ford’s most luxurious sedan, made with an almost handmade finish. And between now and 2025, all of these models will no longer be produced, which the factory maintains today, except for the Ford.
Kuga, accounting for half of current production

utilities,
the future of the factory lies in electrificationand a first step is already to produce the 2.5 liter Duratec engine fitted to the Kuga PEHV (plug-in hybrid) from the end of 2022.
