For the past few months, users have been trying to save time and money when using the car
Whether our car is connected or whether we use our ‘smartphone’ as a driving aid, applications to connect parking stand out among the most downloaded applications in the first months of the year.
Among them, ElParking is one of the three that has grown the most in Spain in the first quarter of 2022, according to the latest results of the SFIx and IGMobile indices of Smartme Analytics, where they analyze quarterly the performance and digital evolution of more than 260 players in 12 sectors through continuous consumer monitoring.
The report highlights the growth of savings applications at a time when inflation has reached very high levels. In this context, ElParking has decided to promote the ‘unpark’ service, where you get back the amount not consumed when you park the vehicle on the streets of many cities in Spain.
One of the factors that has contributed to this growth is the start of activities in new cities such as Córdoba; the diversification of its offer (parking machine, car parks, ITV, refueling, paying tolls and getting information about unreported fines and available card points); and customer service. ElParking ended 2021 with more than two and a half million users and grew by 32% in this first quarter compared to the same period last year. The company’s forecasts for this year are more than 40 million operations and a 90% growth in new users compared to the previous year.
Other applications that are becoming increasingly popular among users are also related to savings, especially when it comes to locating gas stations with the best prices, given the rise in fuel prices in recent months.
In addition to the geoportal of the gas station, where we can find the official rates for all of Spain, we can also use Google Maps, one of the most popular navigation systems, to perform the search once we are on the road.
Another possibility is the Petroprix mobile application, fully developed by the Jaen-based company with its own technology, which has 100,000 active users monthly throughout Spain. This application geolocates the nearest stations with prices in real time, to provide both the locations of the operator’s gas stations and the savings you get when refueling at one of its stations.
Other application options that we can download to our mobile are: GasAll, which allows you to find at any time the gas station that interests you most, selected by price, by fuel or by taking advantage of some kind of promotion.
Due to its usability, the miDGT App of the Directorate-General for Traffic also stands out. This means you do not have to carry your driver’s license in your wallet permanently and it is also not mandatory to have the vehicle papers in the glove compartment with you. Both documents can be certified digitally via mobile. The General Directorate of Traffic acknowledges having a valid driver’s license via the free app ‘miDGT’ and checking the number of points available for each driver at all times.
It also enables procedures for the DGT such as requesting a vehicle report, purchasing fees to perform procedures, sharing vehicle documentation, technical data, environmental label or current insurance company and coverage dates.
As well as it shows alerts about any special situation regarding the vehicles, for example if it is temporarily lost due to theft, if it is embargoed, if it is rented out or has a restriction on transfer.
