A serious traffic accident took place on the Swiss A1 motorway near St. Gallen on Thursday morning in the early hours. A 23-year-old man lost control of his Maserati Levante under the influence of alcohol, after which the luxury SUV collided head-on with a boundary wall.
The 23-year-old man was driving his Maserati Levante on the A1 from St. Gallen in the direction of Winkeln around 2 a.m. His car skidded for unknown reasons. It spun and crashed head-on into the wall on the right side of the road. The car was thrown against the wall in the roadway, where it eventually came to a stop.
A breath alcohol measurement showed a value of 1.32 per thousand. The 23-year-old, who was unharmed, had his driver’s license taken away on the spot. There was damage to property worth tens of thousands of euros.
