A holiday couldn’t have started any worse: a French holiday family’s car suddenly caught fire in Tyrol on Thursday evening when they arrived at their accommodation in Achenkirch (Schwaz district). The parents and their two children were able to get out of the car in time.
In the village street in Eben am Achensee, the driver noticed that a warning light came on on the dashboard. Shortly afterwards, it started to smoke and the car caught fire.

Fortunately, the couple and their two children were able to get out of the car in time. The alarmed fire brigade quickly brought the flames under control, but the car was a total loss. No one was injured.
A small consolation: the host picked up the unfortunate. The fire brigade could have saved the luggage unharmed earlier.
