After the violent death of a 57-year-old woman in Oberwaltersdorf, Lower Austria, the victim’s 64-year-old husband was taken into custody. The woman was found dead in her home on Wednesday. A day later, the handcuffs clicked for the 64-year-old.
The man was initially listed as a witness by the police. He told investigators that he had found his wife dead in the bedroom. According to preliminary autopsy results, the victim had multiple stab wounds to the head.
The next day, the police arrested him on “strong suspicion”. On Sunday afternoon, the alleged perpetrator was finally arrested, Birgit Borns, the spokeswoman for the regional court in Wiener Neustadt, announced at APA’s request. The arrest is initially limited to September 11.
