The machine of the DHL parcel service Boeing 757 had hydraulic problems, local fire chief Héctor Chaves announced on the spot at Juan Santamaría airport. The pilot and co-pilot, the only people on board, were uninjured.

The fire brigade used foam to prevent fires.
