On Wednesday, the emergency services with a large contingent in Laßnitzhöhe in Styria were looking for a missing tourist (78). The woman had disappeared from a hotel in the middle of the night.
It was around 3:15 a.m. when a 79-year-old woke up in a hotel in Laßnitzhöhe to find that his wife was not in the room. He searched the immediate vicinity of the building, but in vain.
So the pensioner alerted the police, who immediately launched a major search. As it soon turned out, the woman had already left the hotel around 1 AM – without clothes and unnoticed by the hotel staff. This is evident from surveillance camera images.
Helicopters and drones in action
The police left with a helicopter and thermal imaging drones. In addition, several dog squads and local fire brigades were involved in the search for the 78-year-old.
The woman was found around 10:45 a.m. having run to a farm a few miles away, but was unharmed. A heavy burden fell from her husband’s heart.
