Applies from Monday – Austria entry: No more 3G for commuters

Date:

The 3G requirement for commuters entering Austria will be lifted from next week. This has been arranged in an amendment to the entry regulations that was announced on Friday.

At the moment you still have to show either a vaccination certificate, a certificate of recovery or a negative test result on arrival. If a person does not have any of the three Gs, they should be registered and quarantined until they test negative or 10 days have passed. The exception that applies from Monday also extends to entry for family purposes, to visit a partner or when attending school and university.

The number of new infections in Austria continues to fall. On Friday, 14,085 corona infections were registered within 24 hours. Just one week ago, when the limit on corona tests came into effect, 23,357 new cases were reported, with nearly 605,000 tests. From Thursday to Friday, only 193,630 official rapid PCR and antigen tests were performed. Since Thursday, there have been 27 new deaths related to Covid-19.
