“No money for that” – Post refused to pay retiree pension

Date:

First a climate bonus, now also pensions: Many people are currently sent home without money by the post office.

If it’s really important, as advertising says, it’s by mail. And given the rampant inflation, what is more important to a retiree than her pension?

Like every month, an elderly lady in Neunkirchen wanted to get her pension from the post office, stood in line and was brusquely turned away. “They said there that they had no cash because they would need it for other payments,” said the person concerned in an interview with “Krone”.

“Just have the money transferred to you”
Her pleas that she urgently needed her retirement were ignored. “Have the money transferred to you in the future”, was the “advice” of the desk clerk. Fortunately, the woman is mobile and on the second attempt at a post office in Wiener Neustadt, the payment went smoothly.

The case comes at a bad time: As reported, several postal customers across Austria have already complained that their cash payment for climate bonuses and the like has been refused. In general, the criticism of the federal government’s actions does not stop there. Sending the vouchers alone costs more than six million euros, which self-employed people also receive when they have registered their account with FinanzOnline. But the transfers are also long in coming…
