More places conquered – Zelenskyj: “It is clear who wins”

Date:

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian troops have succeeded in liberating other Russian-occupied places. After Russian forces withdrew from the front lines in the south and east, Ukrainian troops liberated Novovoskresenske, Novohryhorivka and Petropavlivka northeast of the city of Kherson, Zelenskyj said in his overnight video address. “It’s clear who wins,” Zelenskyj said.

Ukraine will not be intimidated by the nuclear threat from Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russia has already lost. “Ukrainians know what they are fighting for. And more and more citizens of Russia are realizing that just because one person doesn’t want to end the war, they have to die,” he said, referring to Putin.

He and his senior military officials met to talk about reclaiming all Russian-occupied territories, Zelensky said. The Ukrainian army in the south said its forces killed at least 58 Russian fighters and destroyed nine tanks, 17 armored vehicles and four howitzers. The information cannot be independently verified directly.

Supply to Russian troops at risk
Meanwhile, Britain sees the invaders in a strategic dilemma in the battle for southern Ukraine. One of the biggest challenges facing Russian commanders is the growing threat to the strategically important city of Nowa Kakhovka on the south side of the Dnipro Dam, according to the British Defense Ministry’s daily briefing on Thursday. The supply route there is damaged, but the Russians desperately need it to resupply their troops across the river. A withdrawal from there would strengthen the defenses of the regional capital Kherson, but it was politically necessary to preserve the area across the river. The Kremlin has few other highly qualified and rapidly deployable troops to stabilize the front.

Kadyrov “incredibly grateful” for “great appreciation”
The head of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, assured the warlord of his solidarity. The Chechen people will fully support the policies of the head of state anywhere in the world, he wrote on Telegram Thursday morning. He had previously thanked him for his promotion to Colonel General. He was “incredibly grateful” to the Commander in Chief for the “great appreciation”.

Kadyrov also announced that more “special forces” would be sent to the war. From the beginning, its fighters had played an important role in the Russian war of aggression, which violated international law. Against the background of the most recent military setbacks, however, Kadyrov had openly criticized the military leadership, raising, for example, the use of nuclear weapons.

Fighting for Zaporizhzhya continues
Meanwhile, fighting continues in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhya. There were two deaths, the governor of the region, Olexandr Staruch, wrote on Telegram. Many people have been rescued, five people are still under the rubble. “The rescue operation continues.” Several houses were damaged or destroyed by the shelling.

Russia on Wednesday sealed the annexation of the four Ukrainian regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson, which the West said were illegal under international law. Despite the recent successes of the Ukrainian military, especially in Donetsk and Kherson, Putin expressed confidence that the situation in the areas will soon stabilize.
