In Austria, 13,288 new coronavirus infections were reported the day before, as well as 14 further deaths from people infected with corona. Hospital numbers are no longer reported on weekends.
The state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Upper Austria with 1224.9, followed by Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia (1183.1, 1151.9 and 1121.9, respectively). Lower Austria (1045.4), Burgenland (1008.9), Styria (983.1), Vienna (945.8) and Vorarlberg (899.8) follow. Since the start of the pandemic in 2020, there have already been 5,239,883 confirmed corona cases in Austria and 20,823 people have died from or as a result of Covid-19.
The hospital and test events will no longer be communicated on weekends for the time being. As the Ministry of Health recently said, a request from the states to stop reporting daily hospital admissions on Saturday and Sunday has been complied with.
An overview of the Covid patients in hospitals and the positive percentage of the submitted tests will not be possible until Monday. According to the Ministry of Health, the test numbers will only be updated from Monday to Friday in the future.
The data status of the epidemiological reporting system (EMS) related to the corona pandemic in Austria is updated daily in the afternoon on the dashboard of AGES (Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety). The data reflects what happens between midnight and midnight of the respective event day before wider.
