Despite the barrier, an alcohol driver from Romania wanted to overtake two cars near Dienersdorf (Styria) on Sunday afternoon. The consequences were fatal: there was a serious accident involving three cars, all seven occupants, including two small children, were injured.
At around 12:15 pm, the 47-year-old Romanian drove his car from Hartberg towards Kaindorf. He tried to overtake two cars in front of him and ignored the restricted line. When a 39-year-old Austrian with his 42-year-old wife and two children (aged five and two) approached him, the Romanian tore his vehicle and hit one of the previously overtaken vehicles.
All involved have been taken to hospitals
This contained a 69-year-old Austrian driver and his 60-year-old wife. Your vehicle turned on its own axis and collided with the 39-year-old’s oncoming car. Everyone involved in the accident suffered injuries of unknown nature and was taken to the hospitals of Oberwart and Hartberg.
A subsequent alcohol test showed that the Romanian had drunk too much. He should not have been allowed to drive or operate the vehicle.
