Two Spanish tourists have died during a hot air balloon ride in the Turkish holiday region of Cappadocia. There was a hard landing due to unexpectedly strong winds. Three other people – including Spaniards – were injured in the accident involving the hot air balloon loaded with 28 passengers and two crew members on Tuesday morning.
The emergency landing took place in Kavak in Nevsehir province at 8.50 am, the Nevsehir governor’s office said Tuesday.
The injured are therefore treated in different hospitals – there is no danger to life. An investigation has been launched. Hot air balloon rides over the central Anatolian volcanic landscape of Cappadocia are a popular tourist attraction.
