The Basque government announces new support for the thermal bonus, renovation of windows and tackling inflation

These are some of the measures included in the program Hitzartuzwhose content for 2023 was presented this Tuesday by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Pedro Azpiazuand that in total 313.3 million euros.

In this context, within help with energy efficiency In order to compensate for the increase in the bill and to promote energy savings for households, the support for the thermal bonus for 2022 will remain at 9.4 million euros, while, unlike the current year, it includes 2.5 million for the renewal of Windows.

Help to reduce the impact on the citizens of the food inflation they foresee 2.5 million euros for 2023 (in 2022 they did not foresee aid in that part). Social Emergency Aid, which aims to compensate for the loss of purchasing power of the most vulnerable people due to the rise in inflation, increases by 10% to 10 million.

The subsidies for own consumption and storage, on the list of support for energy efficiency, will be 30 million, of which 1.5 million will be for the fight against energy poverty. The deflation of personal income tax by 2% means 100 million euros, as does the extension until 2023 of the deduction of 200 euros for income less than 30,000 euros.

The cost of social housing facilities, for communities with centralized services, will remain at 1.5 million in 2022.

Inside of Special credit line for energy-intensive companies, SMEs and the self-employedReinforcing the measures of the energy emergency plan, the Hitzartuz program of the Basque government announces 40 million euros in loans for energy efficiency investments by SMEs and mid-caps, in addition to 1.5 million for subsidies of the autonomous interest type of 1% .

Hitzartuz is also making 5 million available for the line of energy audits for SMEs and the self-employed, and 10 million for subsidies for energy efficiency in companies.

Asked by the media, Azpiazu, like the Executive’s spokesperson, said: Bingen Zupiriahas specified that the bonuses to address energy consumption, such as the “food bonuses”, to mitigate the effect of inflation on food, will be administered by the Red Cross, and are intended to help people, families and groups most vulnerable and affected by the rise in energy bills and food prices.
