Iberdrola has made a net profit of 3,104 million euros until September, 29% more than in the same period of the previous year, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Good international results, especially in the United States and Brazil, have boosted the energy multinational, which has reduced its net profit in Spain by 14%. Iberdrola attributes the decline in Spain to the impact “due to regulatory and fiscal measures and the high prices of gas and electricity, which have not been transferred to customers with pre-agreed fixed prices.”
With these figures until September, the company confirms its net profit forecast for this year, between 4,000 and 4,200 million euros.
The group’s gross operating income (Ebitda or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation) rose by 17% in the first nine months of the year to EUR 9,529 million.
Investments rose by 14% in the first nine months of the year to EUR 7.6 billion. For example, the company added 10.5 billion euros in investments last year, of which it has allocated 75% of the investment to international markets, mainly the United States.
