A motorist in southeastern Styria lost control of the vehicle and a terrible accident in Rohr an der Raab around 2.15 pm on Friday: the 85-year-old crashed straight into a bridge railing on the B 68 in the direction of Studenten.
Rescue helicopter had to carry him away
He received first aid from the Red Cross and was then flown in a rescue helicopter to the hospital in Graz. The man suffered serious injuries.
The fire brigade was also present. His car was a total loss, the B 68 was closed for about an hour. It is still unclear why the man lost control of the vehicle.
