A 72-year-old taxi driver was robbed of his vehicle in Pettenbach (Upper Austria) by three 13-year-old youths. While fleeing by car, the three had an accident near Hohenzell. The youths were later caught in another taxi in Wels. You are now on the Linz Neuromed Campus.
The 72-year-old taxi driver was robbed in Pettenbach on Saturday around 1 a.m. by three initially unknown young people – two boys and a girl. The three had let themselves be driven from Linz to Pettenbach and when the taxi stopped, the two boys must have forcibly pulled the steering wheel out of the car. Finally, the teenagers took a taxi.
Taxi driver identified suspect
Based on a photo provided, the taxi driver was able to identify one of the perpetrators without any doubt as the main perpetrator and subsequent driver. An immediately started search for the taxi initially yielded nothing. Based on the personal descriptions of the two accomplices, youth contacts from the police command of the city of Linz were also able to identify the other suspects, a 13-year-old boy from Linz and a 13-year-old girl from Traun.
Seriously damaged
Meanwhile, around 8.15 am, the stolen taxi was found badly damaged in a field in Hohenzell (Ried/I. district). During the search, the three fugitives were found in another taxi (not stolen) towards Wels. This taxi was eventually stopped in Wels, the three were arrested and interrogated. The three young suspects were admitted to the Neuromed Campus Linz.
