Scandal during election campaign – Trump describes Democrat Nancy Pelosi as an animal

Date:

Donald Trump failed again at a campaign event in Ohio on Tuesday. In front of his many supporters, the ex-president did not shy away from insulting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by calling her an “animal” (video above). And he announced a “very big announcement” on Nov. 15.

Trump continued to incite his supporters against House Speaker Pelosi on Tuesday night, even after her husband was recently injured in an attack on the couple’s home. “Nancy Pelosi said, ‘Please don’t call them animals. These are people.’ I said no, they are animals, of course I think they are animals too,” the Republican in Dayton, Ohio, said of migrants. He also attacked the Biden administration, comparing refugees to “terrorists”.

Pelosi spoke to CNN about assaulting her husband
Immediately before Trump’s appearance, Pelosi spoke emotionally in her first interview since the attack on her husband more than ten days ago. While Pelosi was in Washington, a man broke into her home in San Francisco overnight. According to police, he woke her 82-year-old husband, Paul, and demanded to speak to the Speaker of Parliament.

When the police arrived, warned by Paul Pelosi, the man hit him with a hammer. As a result, Paul Pelosi had to undergo surgery for a skull fracture. The attacker later testified that he wanted to interrogate Nancy Pelosi and crush her knees. She was particularly concerned that her husband was not the actual target of the attack, “but he was the one who paid the price,” Pelosi told CNN.

She linked the attack to Trump’s lie about his alleged stolen victory in the 2020 presidential election and other misinformation being spread by his Republican Party supporters. The attack by Trump supporters on the Capitol in Washington in January 2021 was driven by this. Trump called Pelosi “Crazy Nancy” for years.

Pelosi called on Republicans to distance themselves from Trump’s rhetoric. “We need a strong Republican party in our country,” the Democrat said. The Republicans have accomplished great things for America – “and they should be proud of it instead of indulging in the cult of a villain.”

Promises a “very big message”
At the Dayton campaign event, Trump also promised his supporters a “very big announcement” for Nov. 15. He justified the week-long wait by saying, “We don’t want any of tomorrow’s interest (Tuesday in the midterms, all 435 seats in the House and about a third of the 100 seats in the Senate have been elected; note.) distracts.”

Trump has repeatedly hinted that he could announce another presidential election shortly after the congressional election.
