It wasn’t until Wednesday that the Viennese police stand-by unit – as reported – stumbled upon an entire arsenal of illegal fireworks that a 14-year-old had hoarded for sale. Now there was another assignment in a fireworks store in Favoriten…
On Friday evening, the sirens of the fire brigade and police in Favoriten sounded. The emergency services stopped in front of a shop marked “Fireworks”. As a witness told the “Krone”, it initially seemed as if the store had been evacuated.
Magistrate objected to storage quantity
But it shouldn’t have been that dramatic. In an interview with krone.at, the entrepreneur calmed down: the magistrate initially checked against the amount of stored fireworks. The management and the fire brigade were then deployed, temporarily removing the excess pyrotechnic objects in the store.
The police could no longer provide information about the operation and the background to krone.at on Friday evening. In any case, the Viennese fire brigade confirmed the assistance to the department for immediate measures.
