An alleged “model boy” (19) asked an 11-year-old from Germany, whom he met on Snapchat, to send him sex videos. Now he is being tried by the regional court in Feldkirch.
His mother describes him as a model boy. His lawyer as a clean man with plans for the future. “He has a high school diploma, wants to study and start his own business.” That means his client is not a “parade criminal”. Nevertheless, the 19-year-old Unterländer is on trial for a crime for which the legislator provides for up to ten years in prison: sexual abuse and pornographic image of a minor.
Sent nude photos
The crime took place in January. The suspect wrote back and forth on Snapchat with a girl from Germany under a false name. Although the child tells him he is eleven years old, he sends the victim nude pictures of himself. At the same time, he asks the child to do the same and show videos of the child masturbating in addition to nudes.
When the victim’s mother finally finds the ‘material’ on her daughter’s mobile phone, she files a complaint. During the trial, the accused admitted partial guilt. However, he claims not to have known the girl’s real age. However, which this denies. In the end, the jury believes the victim.
man was found guilty
The man was eventually found guilty and sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence. He has to pay 1440 euros, which are also charged to him. The reasoning of the judgment states that the legislator does not distinguish whether it concerns matters in a real or virtual world.
