Luck for Tyroleans (67) – the car was thrown into a ditch and overturned

Spectacular accident Wednesday evening in Wiesing in the Tyrolean district of Schwaz! Two cars – driven by two local men aged 25 and 67 – came at right angles to each other on the national road Achensee. The balance: The 25-year-old and his passenger had to be taken to hospital. The 67-year-old was luckier.

The accident happened around 7:20 p.m. The 25-year-old drove his car on the national road Achensee B181 from the Wiesing roundabout in the direction of Achensee. At the same time, the 67-year-old wanted to cross the street with his car coming from a supermarket. “The 67-year-old stated that he had not seen the 25-year-old’s vehicle and therefore did not stop at the stop sign,” police said.

This caused the two cars to collide at right angles to each other. The 25-year-old’s car was thrown into the ditch, overturned and landed on the roof. He and his passenger of the same age had to be taken to Kufstein Hospital with injuries. Meanwhile, the 67-year-old suffered only minor abrasions to his right hand and was treated on the spot. There was serious damage to both vehicles.

22 emergency services from the Wiesing fire brigade, two ambulance teams and an ambulance team as well as three police patrols were deployed.
