The murder of a young man in a Catholic church has sparked outrage in the Czech Republic. The 18-year-old was found dead in the church in Baska municipality near Frydek-Mistek, a police spokeswoman said on Friday. He volunteered as a church organist and had a key to the church to rehearse.
The police have arrested a 20-year-old acquaintance of the young man who is charged with murder in a particularly serious case. He allegedly attacked and killed his victim in St Wenceslas Church for unspecified personal reasons. Police say he could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
