During a check at the state border on the Brenner Pass, the South Tyrolean police made a huge drug discovery: two women from Germany transported tens of kilograms of cocaine in their vehicle. Market value: several million euros.
The two German citizens had just crossed from Tyrol to Italy when they were stopped by a patrol from the Sterzing Carabinieri, the South Tyrolean news portal stol.it reported. According to them, the officers searched the vehicle because the women gave only vague answers about the reason for their trip and their documents also seemed strange to the officers.
100 kilos of cocaine hidden in car
The carabinieri proved they had the right nose: they discovered 46 kilograms of cocaine, which is probably worth several million euros. The drug is said to have been hidden in 38 packets throughout the car, including under the spare wheel.
