Peru’s president proposes bringing elections to April 2024

That was said on Sunday in a speech to the nation on the occasion of this weekend’s violent demonstrations they have left two dead so far and several dozen injured.

The Peruvian president explained that she will send a bill to Congress “in the coming days” so that it can be “agreed upon by the political forces represented in parliament.” Boluarte has indicated that the adoption of this law entails constitutional reforms, while his cabinet “will also call for agreement in the Congress of the Republic on a law for the reform of the political system”.
