In Vienna-Favoriten, customers in a bakery were stunned when they saw a pigeon defecating on the floor next to the fruit stored in the bar.
Photos from an attentive “Krone” reader reporter show the animal culprit at 12:45 a.m. in the branch on Vienna’s Reumannplatz. The pigeon had unabashedly defecated on the floor twice.
Employees dodged
Much to the chagrin of the customers, not even the staff should have tried to chase the pigeon out of the restaurant. On the contrary: the employees would have skilfully avoided the white pile.
Especially since it should be common knowledge that pigeons in the big city in particular can transmit various bacterial diseases such as salmonella or viral diseases through their droppings.
The company has not yet commented on the incident.
