Ironically, two drug users got into an argument at 10 p.m. on Christmas Day, December 24, in Linz, on Wiener Strasse. A 20-year-old from Linz stabbed a 27-year-old Russian citizen, also from Linz, in the back with a butterfly knife.

The perpetrator himself called the police and confessed when officers arrived on the scene. The man was arrested on the spot and taken to the police detention center in Linz. The victim was taken to the UKH Linz together with the Samaritan Association. The murder weapon was secured.
Was it self defense?
After conducting investigations and all interrogations, with the suspect confessing to the stabbing but pointing to his “self-defense situation”, the Linz public prosecutor’s office ordered the transfer to Linz prison on December 25, 2022.
