The government of Navarre plans to collect in total €104 million in the next two years after reaching one agreement with the government of Spain on the new taxes for banks and energy companies, along with other rates such as the one that will be applied to non-reusable plastic packaging or to fluorinated greenhouse gases.

This amount is obtained by applying 1.6%, the imputation index established in the economic agreement with the State, to the EUR 6,500 million advanced by the Spanish government, which it intends to collect this tax in the years 2023 and 2024. .

The consensus reached relates to agreements in both fiscal and financial areas. On the former, agreement has been reached on the harmonization of the tax on disposable plastic packaging; the adjustment to the changes in the tax on fluorinated greenhouse gases and the harmonization of the temporary solidarity tax for large assets.

In addition, on the financial side, agreement has been reached on Navarra’s participation in the temporary energy taxes and credit and financial credit institutions, as well as the methodology for determining the adjustments of the collection of the tax on non-reusable plastic packaging and the taxation of fluorinated greenhouse gases.

The Foral Community also has the tax on large fortunes which will be complementary to the wealth tax. Navarra will therefore adopt it with its own regulations, but it will not be applied in practice, since in the Foral community the changes provided for the wealth tax will be applied from January 1, 2023.
