An arsonist is still planning mischief in a residential complex in Vienna-Donaustadt. For the ninth fire, the emergency services had to divert to Rennbahnweg – on Monday evening there was another fire in the basement of the institution.
The emergency services left around 03:30 for a large-scale action and quickly extinguished the fire. It was already the fourth night that fires were lit. Most recently there was a basement fire in the large community building on Friday evening.
No one has been injured in the fire series so far. According to the police, there is still no trace of the perpetrator or perpetrators.
The emergency services were on site every night with a large contingent. In buildings with a living area of more than 22 meters – empty attics do not count – alarm level 2 is always automatically activated, reports a spokesman for the fire service. This is usually the case with houses with seven stories or more. This also includes the residential complex on Rennbahnweg.
