After an extensive operation in a residential area in Vienna-Floridsdorf on New Year’s Eve, the police checked parts of this official act.
A gathering of teenagers and young adults had thrown fireworks – apparently also at emergency services – resulting in three arrests and more than 200 identity checks, with dozens of people reporting the incident. A video has now surfaced online (see tweet below) criticizing the actions of officials.
Officials previously pelted crackers
The scene was a large community building on Mitterhofergasse. People masked in storm masks and scarves also threw firecrackers at the intervening officers, according to the New Year’s Day police report.
“The video is already known to us and has been secured for review and forwarded for legal and disciplinary review,” Vienna police said on Twitter.
